It has been shown to improve the quality of life for these individuals by improving their social skills, language acquisition, and ability to live independently. This blog post will discuss the importance of ABA therapy as well as how it can be used to help your child acquire new skills.
IS ABA THERAPY A HIGHLY EFFECTIVE AND EVIDENCE BASED TREATMENT APPROACH FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM?

ABA therapy usually has a 3-tiered model...
Where there is a therapist, supervisor, and parent coach. All are important for getting the maximum result from aba therapy.
In tier one, the therapist works with your child to improve their social skills. They will teach them how to initiate play and respond appropriately when they are talked with or touched. The goal of these interactions is for the children to learn that people can be a source of fun and happiness rather than fear.
In tier two, the supervisor oversees what the therapist is doing. The supervisor meets with the therapist to discuss your child's progress, look at data, and revise programs as needed.
In tier three, the parent coach will work with you (the parent) to help you learn the skills to continue applying ABA therapy when the therapist is not around. This includes how to handle transitions and deal with problem solving situations.
ABA therapy is not a quick fix, meaning it will take time and patience to make progress. It can also be quite expensive however most insurances cover ABA. Most parents start seeing progress in their child within the first few weeks.
